The nearest airport is Geneva International.
By car from from Calais
Take the A26 Motorway towards Reims and Troyes, then Dijon, Beaune. Before Macon, take A40 Motorway ("Autoroute Blanche") towards Chamonix. Exit the A40 Motorway at Cluses and follow signs to your chosen resort.
By car from Geneva International Airport (Swiss side)
When you leave the Airport on the Swiss side, follow all green signs to France. After crossing the border at Bardonex, you will merge into the A40 Motorway ("Autoroute Blanche"). Follow the A40 towards Chamonix. Exit Motorway at Cluses and follow signs to your chosen resort.
By car from Geneva International Airport (French side)
A word of warning: hiring a car of the French side of Geneva International Airport is often cheaper and might seem more logical "on paper". But, in reality, reaching the French resorts can be a lot more hassle.
If you hire a car from the French side of the airport, you have little choice but to brave Geneva city centre, which in the rush hour, may not be the best of starts to your trip.
If you do decide to choose this option, here's what to do:
When you leave the Airport on the French side, you will need to take sign to Genève Centre. Once you have reached the Centre of Geneva, you will then need to take signs for Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. After crossing the border at Gaillard, you will merge into the A40 Motorway ("Autoroute Blanche"). Follow the A40 towards Chamonix. Exit Motorway at Cluses and follow signs to your chosen resort.
